As we well know, the ‘in’ or ‘out’ debate polarises opinion. More importantly, it diverts attention from what really matters, which is ‘how’.
Right now, we’re in a fertile period for innovation. The big opportunity is developing new and multiple patterns of working that add value – for people, for businesses, for society. And why not think big? Albeit we might start small.
So let’s pay close attention to the patterns of hybrid working that are beginning to develop. Just as coffee is more than just black or white, so is hybrid working.
We’re in the midst of change right now. It’s like a big experiment. And it’s happening live. It’s time to pay attention to the dynamic patterning and make some informed choices about the patterns we’re creating.
We should expect unintended consequences. They come along for the ride in any change. Let’s look out for them, so we can grasp the opportunities and head off newly emerging issues.
